BTC is currently accepting applications from in-district residents ONLY for the programs listed below (exceptions: Rock Valley College residents interested in the Physical Therapist Assistant program and out-of-district residents interested in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Medical Laboratory Technician program).  Students interested in one of the following health programs will need to petition for a spot in the core clinical program courses.

  • Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Medical Laboratory Technician
  • Nursing
  • Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Radiography

Students MUST complete the following in order to petition for a spot in the core clinical program courses.

  • The application process to the College and be accepted to the program.
  • ALL program ready requirements (see program for specific requirements).

It is the student's responsibility to submit a petition form during the designated petition period in order to be considered for a spot in the core clinical program courses.  If not selected, students will need to submit a petition form (during the petition period) in subsequent years thereafter as a means of indicating a continued interest in the beginning the core clinical program courses.

Wait Time for Core Clinical Courses

  • There may be a 2-4 year wait for the core clinical courses.  Students are strongly encouraged to complete the general education courses while waiting.
  • Continual enrollment is NOT required in order to maintain a current application.
  • Students should generate alternative options/plans for the time they are waiting to begin the core clinical courses.

For additional information on the petition process, students should carefully read the information in the links below AND attend an information session.
