NEW! AUTOCAD 

This course will teach you the basic commands within AutoCAD, along with how to set up drawings. This course will also enhance your AutoCAD skills and increase your productivity through the use of shortcut commands, intermediate editing and drawing commands. We will show you how to draw mechanical details, dimension drawings and how to plot drawings. This is designed to familiarize students with available commands in AutoCAD, as well as provide an overview of paper space/model space and an introduction to plotting. Prerequisite: An introductory computer class.


NEW! GETTING STARTED WITH QUICKBOOKS

QuickBooks is an accounting software package developed and marketed by Intuit. QuickBooks products are geared mainly toward small and medium-sized businesses and offer on-premises accounting applications. Also, recommended for sole proprietors. This would be a good class if you have never used QuickBooks and are thinking about changing over to QuickBooks for your accounting needs.  This seminar will cover an overview, basic accounting principles, navigating the interface and tracking customers, as well as much more.

 

MS EXCEL 2013 INTERMEDIATE: SPECIAL FEATURES FOR BUSINESS APPLICATIONS

In this 6-hour Intermediate Microsoft Excel training seminar students will learn how to work with illustrations and charts, setting up a page and printing, validating, protecting and auditing forms and templates, working with advanced formatting, styles and outlining; working with multiple worksheets and workbooks, using advanced functions.  This hands-on seminar will allow students to discuss and practice through hands-on exercises.  This course is applicable for any version of Microsoft Excel.


MS EXCEL 2010: INTERMEDIATE TIPS & TRICKS

Are you ready to take your basic MS Excel skills to the next level?  Join us for this short 3-hour class focusing on MS Excel tips and tricks for those who already have basic Excel knowledge.  Participants will learn software capabilities like working with charts, linking information from different worksheets/workbooks, naming cells and ranges, creating drop down lists, combining text from two columns, and using advanced logic functions.  This class is not intended for beginners. 

NEW! ADVANCED GRANT PROPOSAL WORKSHOP

If you seek funding for a specific project or program for your organization, this is your opportunity to complete a grant proposal and have it ready for submission in five weeks. The instructor will guide you through the processes of identifying a funding source, planning the grant project, collecting necessary data, writing the narrative, developing an evaluation plan, and creating a budget. You will have significant homework to complete each week, and you will receive feedback from your workshop colleagues and the instructor as time permits. Consider enrolling 2-3 people from your organization to maximize the quality of your grant proposal, which you will be able to modify to fit the requirements of future grant applications.  Some familiarity with the grant writing process and/or completion of Grant Writing 101 is recommended.

NEW! CREATING A CULTURE THAT ENGAGES AND RETAINS DIFFERENT GENERATIONS

The Generation Gaps workshop will help participants understand the various generations present at work, and understand what motivates them and dealing with them on a daily basis. Both the young and older worker will have many ideas to offer, which will help the organization thrive in the marketplace. Learning how to deal with the Generation Gaps at work will help you become a better manager or co-worker. 

FORKLIFT OPERATOR SAFETY

This 4 hour course is designed to provide present or future powered industrial truck operators the instruction and knowledge they need to get into compliance with OSHA standard 29CFR1910.178.  The training includes forklift capacity, stability, center of gravity, vehicle inspections, refueling, pedestrian traffic and hands on driving exercise for competency in safe driving practices.  To pass the safety training, participants must demonstrate driving proficiencies.  Passing participants receive a workplace hazard and equipment checklist for those interested in becoming fully certified by their present or future employer.  Pre-registration required one week prior to the start of the course.  Materials provided. Please note that this course requires students to sign the ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISKS/ACCEPTANCE OF RESPONSIBILITY AGREEMENT AND RELEASE form prior to engaging in course activities.

FORKLIFT OPERATOR TRAIN-THE-TRAINER

OSHA 1919.178 states "all operator training and evaluation shall be conducted by persons who have knowledge, training and experience to train truck operators and evaluate their competencies". This 4 hour workshop will introduce you to adult learning styles, the OSHA regulations for Powered Industrial Trucks, sample training programs, sample forms as well as other effective trainer insight.  Materials provided. Please note that this course requires students to sign the ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISKS/ACCEPTANCE OF RESPONSIBILITY AGREEMENT AND RELEASE form prior to engaging in course activities.
