Multicultural Affairs Mission Statement

The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) serves the needs of the Blackhawk Technical College minority student population and those interested in fostering multicultural ideas through advocacy, support, intervention, advising, leadership and access to opportunities. The OMA serves as a resource for educational programming for students, faculty and administration on issues relevant to appreciation for and inclusiveness of diversity through orientations to campus culture and the academic system while striving to provide a place where all are welcome, accepted, encouraged and empowered.

Office of Multicultural Affairs Location:

The Office of Multicultural Affairs is located in the Student Service Area (Room 2104). Students and other visitors are welcome to stop in any time to visit, or to inquire about office services and programs.

8:00am - 5:00pm (Monday - Thursday ) and 8:00am - 4:30 (Friday)

The focus of the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is to serve Blackhawk Technical College’s ethnic student population and its staff. It is a place where individuals can study independently or within groups, an environment where ideas, issues and concerns that promote the respectful concept of multiculturalism are embraced and welcomed.

The OMA offers a variety of services from peer-tutoring, mentoring and brown-bag discussions to the availability and usage of some program text books, videos, training materials and other items focusing on diversity and race related issues. A variety of multicultural newspapers and magazines are available, and students and staff are welcome to check out books, video materials from the OMA.
