Blackhawk Technical College will hold a half-day admissions session for new students on Friday, Aug. 2, that will speed up their acceptance to the college.
The session, from 8:30 a.m. to noon in room 2104 of the BTC Central Campus, will assist new students in completing their admissions application, financial aid, and the BTC COMPASS assessment for the 2013-14 school year that begins Aug. 19.
Those who attend are asked to bring $30 and their high school, GED and any college transcripts. The application fee may be waived for those who are income eligible.
To complete the Compass assessment, students need to bring photo identification and $10.
Those who plan to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are asked to bring proof of income or a 2012 tax return. A light lunch will be provided at the conclusion of the session.
Those planning to attend the session or who may have questions about it are asked to contact Cristina Parente of the BTC admissions staff at (608) 757-7719 by July 31.
The BTC Central Campus is located at 6004 S. County Road G, Janesville.
