The Monroe Campus of Blackhawk Technical College is planning a busy summer and fall as it plans campus activities and participates in community events prior to and during the 2014-15 school year.
The first college oriented event begins July 28 and run through Aug. 1 with Blackhawk’s popular Tech Knowledge College, which offers financially qualified students entering grades nine through 12 this fall opportunities to explore Blackhawk program offerings while investigating a variety of career options. Participants in Tech Knowledge College take ACT COMPASS pre and post tests, and receive week long developmental instruction. Afternoons are used to introduce students to their program interests. Advanced Manufacturing, Business, Culinary Arts, Health Sciences and Public Safety curricula are featured.
New students who are attending the Monroe Campus this fall are encouraged to attend an orientation program on Aug. 13 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Students will learn about services offered at the Monroe Campus and other pertinent college information that will assist them in being successful.
On Nov. 28, the Monroe Campus will play host to the annual Agricultural College Preview Day, an opportunity for students and graduates in southern Wisconsin to check out a number of program offerings in agriculture provided by area colleges, including BTC. The program also includes workshops on agricultural careers, industry expectations and college entrance information.
The Monroe Campus also will participate in the following community and area events:

* Green County Cheese Days 100th Anniversary, September 15-21, Monroe.
* World Dairy Expo, Sept. 30-Oct. 4, Alliant Energy Center, Madison.
* FHN Healthcare College Fair, Oct. 1, 1045 W. Stephenson St., Freeport, IL. Career exploration sessions for Nursing, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy and other health field.
