Two students in the Advanced Manufacturing program at Blackhawk Technical College have been awarded the $2,000 Grainger Tools for Tomorrow® scholarships.
James Bagley, who is studying Computer Numeric Control (CNC), and Jusitn Vegge, who is a student in the Electro Mechanical program, are the recipients of the scholarships, which are offered to students studying skilled trades and public safety related programs. Both are on track to graduate this spring.
Grainger, an international distributor of products used to maintain, repair and operate facilities with outlets in Janesville and Madison, has offered the scholarships since 2006. Scholarship winners also will receive a customized Westward toolkit upon graduation.
“Grainger is investing in the future of American industry and local communities through the scholarship program,’’ said Kari Gates, the company’s Janesville based representative. “This year we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Grainger Tools for Tomorrow scholarship program. Grainger has supported outstanding students pursuing skilled trades and public safety careers and enjoyed partnerships with strong community colleges across the country. We are proud to partner with Blackhawk Technical College and believe business and college partnerships are one solution to building a stronger workforce, since 2006.’’
