She will join the state ambassadors from the other 15 technical colleges at a dinner in their honor. She also will participate in leadership seminars while in Madison.
“This award is amazing and will be even more amazing that day in front of my husband and children,’’ Gruner said. “I have pushed myself hard for them, and I have tried to give them so much to strive for and be proud of.
“Anything is possible if you truly want it.’’
Gruner comes from Poplar Grove, Illinois. She was selected the BTC state ambassador following an interview process that stressed why she decided to attend Blackhawk and what her education at BTC has meant to her.
In her new role, Gruner will help BTC with awareness initiatives, speaking engagements, touring prospective students and helping mentor new students.
