Kuhn North America, one of the world’s leaders in the manufacture of farm machinery based in Brodhead, WI, will support four new scholarships worth $2,000 per year for Blackhawk Technical College students in the school’s welding and computer numeric control programs.
The scholarships will be distributed by the BTC Foundation. The scholarship application deadline for both current and new students is May 1.
The Kuhn scholarships will be decided among this year’s applicants and will be used for the 2015-16 school year, said Elizabeth Horvath, BTC’s Director of Advancement and Community Relations.
“These generous scholarships by Kuhn North America are indicative of Kuhn’s interest in developing a skilled workforce in our district and Blackhawk Technical College’s commitment to recognizing our academically gifted students,’’ said Horvath. “It is the best example of how our interests are intertwined."
Two annual $500 scholarships will be awarded in each field. New full-time students and current full-time students with a 3.0 grade point average are eligible.
Scholarship application forms are available at blackhawk.edu by searching for scholarship opportunities. Current students also may apply at MyBTC.
Two letters of recommendation are required with an application. The letter of recommendation form also is available at blackhawk.edu.
