Soul Food Luncheon 2017

Blackhawk Technical College will hold its annual Soul Food Luncheon on Tuesday, Feb. 28, with proceeds from the event being used to fund BTC scholarships for multicultural students.

Prepared by BTC students in the Culinary Arts program, a menu featuring baked and fried chicken, fried catfish, ham and barbecue ribs will highlight the event, which also will include entertainment provided by the Harlan Jefferson Duo.

The luncheon is open to the public. Tickets for BTC staff and the general public are $10. BTC students and senior citizen tickets are $8.

The luncheon will be held in the North Commons of BTC’s Central Campus, 6004 S. County Hwy. G in Janesville from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Door prizes will be available and lunch and learn black history facts will be part of the activities. The menu also includes sides of candied yams, collard greens, black eyed peas, macaroni & cheese, okra, spaghetti and coleslaw. Corn bread and rolls also are available. Desserts available are red velvet cake, peach cobbler and sweet potato pie.

The Soul Food Luncheon is being sponsored by the Blackhawk Technical College Foundation, the Culinary Arts program, the Student Government Association and the Multi-Cultural Alliance.
