Two Blackhawk Technical College students studying in health related fields have been named winners of scholarships provided by the Wisconsin Hospital Association Foundation.
Christopher Phillips, who is in the BTC nursing program, and Carolyn Terkla, who is in the physical therapy assistant program, are the Blackhawk beneficiaries of the Foundation program that awards two scholarships to students at each of the 16 schools in the Wisconsin Technical College System.
The scholarships are awarded to students who are in their last semester of study in a two-year health care related program and who carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
The final semester scholarship covers a student’s tuition, books and fees up to $2,000.
“We are very happy to support students training for health occupations and are pleased to enhance the many scholarship initiatives that our member hospitals and hospital volunteer organizations have with their local technical colleges,’’ said Jennifer Frank, executive director of the Wisconsin Hospital Association Foundation.
