NOTE: Application period for the summer fire academy extended to Tuesday, May 1, 2012
Blackhawk Technical College Fire Training Division is now accepting applications for the Summer Fire Academy in Monroe, Wisconsin. The Academy is a full-time program (40 hours per week) that meets Monday-Friday, with some Saturdays starting June 13, 2012 and ending August 10, 2012. The cost of this program is $2150.00, and participants will be given the opportunity to participate in selected classes at the Monroe Fire School August 17, 18, & 19, as part of the Academy.
The Fire Academy includes training and testing, both written and practical, for Fire Fighter I and Fire Fighter II. It also includes Hazardous Materials Operations level, Fire Fighter Health and Safety, and American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR. The Academy includes credits toward the Fire Protection Technician (FPT) Associate degree at Blackhawk Technical College.
