The TLC specialist coordinates a broad range of services for full and part-time faculty to promote teaching excellence.
Training on Blackboard Basics for version 9.1 is available by appointment or by group training. For Blackboard support check out the Instructor and Student Blackboard Support Sites.
Just in Time Assistance
Individual support is offered on all aspects of content creation, from syllabus creation through classroom presentation.
- Weekly workshops are offered on topics related to online teaching and classroom technology
- Special presentations and workshops by TLC faculty and invited speakers, on topics related to faculty development (teaching, learning, technology, assessment, and curriculum).
BTC has moved to the new web-based version of WIDS. WIDS (Worldwide Instructional Design System) is a web-based curriculum management system grounded in the principles of performance-based learning. Blackhawk Technical College has adopted WIDS as the system for creating and storing course and program curriculum.

Various educational technology are available for checkout through the BTC library at Central, the LRC in Monroe and through the front desk administrative assistants in Beloit, CTS and Milton campuses.
