Full-Time Law Enforcement Basic Recruit Academy

Spring/Fall Semester

The Law Enforcement Basic Recruit Academy is a program for those that are interested in a career in law enforcement. The program is 18 consecutive weeks (Mondays through Fridays 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m and some Saturdays) totaling 720 instructional hours. In addition to the in class instruction and lab time, students should expect at least 1/2 hour of outside study time for every hour of class time.

Upon completion of the program, a student will be eligible for certification with the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board. The program focuses on both the theories of law enforcement and is coupled with the tactical skills necessary to be a police officer, deputy sheriff, or sworn member of law enforcement in Wisconsin.
