Ed-Venture Portables

The portable initiatives are a series of problem-solving experiences that can be transported anywhere, indoors or outside.  Initiatives are fun, collaborative challenges that have been selected to support the goals of the group.  In working together to solve these challenges, groups find themselves testing their familiar methods of communication, responsibility, cooperation, trust, risk-taking and creative problem-solving.

After each initiative, discussions led by skilled facilitators help groups reflect on their experiences and develop a plan to apply what they learn to other challenges they face.

Spider Web

The goal of this activity is to physically pass each team member through a spider web.  Challenging rules create situations that encourage the group to work together.  Key learning areas include resource utilization, problem solving and creative planning.

Blind Trust Walk

One person must lead his/her blindfolded colleague through an obstacle course - without saying a word.  This activity helps build a sense of trust among co-workers.

Computer Virus

The game is a simulation of the 'manufacturing process'.  A task will be presented to the group and certain rules or 'production processes' will be introduced.  The ultimate goal is to develop the most efficient production system with the highest quality.
