Blackhawk Technical College’s Department of Continuing and Community Education is pleased to offer you courses from ed2go, one of the world’s leading providers of distance learning programs for adults.

Each course comes with a patient and caring instructor, lively discussions with your fellow students, and plenty of practical information that you can put to immediate use. The ed2go faculty includes some of the most well known and trusted names in online education.

 

You can take all of the online courses from the comfort of your home or office at times that are most convenient to you. A new section of each course starts monthly. All courses run for six weeks and are composed of 12 lessons, representing 24 or more hours of instruction. Courses are project-oriented and include lessons, quizzes, hands-on assignments, discussion areas, supplementary links and more. You can ask questions and give or receive advice at any time during the course. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to download a handsome certificate of completion from ed2go.

How to Get Started:

 

Requirements
All courses require Internet access, email, Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer. Some courses may have additional requirements. Please visit our Online Instruction Center for more information.

  1. Visit the ed2go Online Instruction Center: www.ed2go.com/blackhawktech

  2. Click the Orientation link and follow the instructions to choose, enroll and pay for your course. During orientation, you will learn important information about your course. You will also be provided an opportunity to choose the name and password you will use to access your course.
     

  3. When your course starts, return to the ed2go Online Instruction Center and click the Classroom link. To begin your studies, simply log in with the name and password you selected during orientation.

**Note:  All payments must be made online with a major credit card.

Am I taking a course from BTC or through another provider?
You are taking these non-credit courses through Education to Go, A division of Thompson Learning, a highly regarded leader in educational services.

 

Do I need my own special software?
If you are taking a computer software applications class, you must have the appropriate software package loaded on your PC. The software must be installed in order to participate in these classes as they are interactive, not tutorials. How do I access my lessons?
Your lessons will be released to you after you have paid for the course and completed the online orientation. Go to the web site http://www.ed2go.com/blackhawktech and click on 'Orientation'. The orientation must be completed at least two days prior to the start of the class.

 

Do I need to be online when the lessons are released?
No. The lessons are released at 12 o'clock Noon each Wednesday and Friday.

 

What if I have a question?
An interactive discussion area accompanies all lessons. When you need assistance with a lesson, post your question or inquiry in the appropriate course discussion area. The instructor, his/her teaching assistant, or your fellow students will respond.

 

When do I access my lessons?
The lessons are available 24 hours a day, every day.

 

How do I submit my assignments?
Everything is done online. All questions and quizzes will be completed and submitted online.

 

How much does each course cost?
Most courses cost $99.00 each
