Challenge Course
Ed-Venture High Elements
Using harnesses, helmets, ropes, wooden
beams, and cables that are strung 20-40 feet in the air, teams
explore problem solving leadership and trust. Each moment
is rich with discoveries, whether you’re encouraging others or
“on belay.”
Participants appreciate the opportunity to
interact with their teammates in a very different and powerful
way. Our facilitators establish the context for each activity,
monitor participant’s safety, and help the team recognize
valuable insights throughout the day. Although the perceived
risk due to the height of the activity is high, the actual risk
is low. Participants will overcome personal fears and develop
new self-confidence.
Each activity is offered as a "challenge by
choice". Each participant serves a role that is suitable for
them on the ground or off the ground. Not every person has to
be a climber, but their support, encouragement, and mastery of
the belaying system is equally important to the activity.
Climbing
Wall
A team of three individuals is hooked together as they climb
the 35-foot wall. The objective is to communicate as a team and
work together to climb as far up the wall as the members of the
team agree to go.
Pamper
Pole
One individual at a time climbs to the top of the pole to
stand and balance on a disc. The participant may then choose to
jump off the disc and touch a rope that is dangling off to the
side. The objective is for individuals to challenge themselves
to go as far up the pole as they can.
Boardwalk
A team of belayers
supports the participant (Australian Style) as they traverse across
wobbly boards, 30’ in the air.
Hourglass
A group of three
belayers support their teammates as they traverse across a giant X
in the sky. The challenge increases as the ropes converge.
Suspension Bridge
(Tension
Traverse)
Featuring an “Aussie” belay technique, individuals
walk across a steel cable. Two guide ropes offer a helping
hand.
