The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) is an industry-led training, assessment and certification system focused on the core skills and knowledge needed by the nation’s production workers. This nationally accepted standard of competencies defines baseline skills needed by 21st century high-performance manufacturing workers.
The MSSC system awards a “Certified Production Technician (CPT)” credential to individuals who pass all four production modules:
· Safety
· Quality Practices & Measurement
· Manufacturing Processes & Production
· Maintenance Awareness
The Wisconsin MSSC initiative is a partnership venture between the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and the colleges of the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS). These partners, with the support of the manufacturing sector, are making MSSC training and testing services available around the state.
