On February 6, 2009 Blackhawk Technical College celebrated its first year of activity in Manufacturing Skill Standards Certification (MSSC) with an awards ceremony for the 16 recipients of the Certified Production Technician. Wisconsin's Department of Workforce Development Secretary, Roberta Gassman was on hand to present the certificates. Dan Clancy, President of the Wisconsin Technical College System addressed the nearly 75 person audience outlining the entire Wisconsin Technical College System is not only working to grow the manufacturing program, but other in-demand programs as well, such as green power, health care and biotechnology.
