How to Borrow Materials
Student & Rock/Green County Residents Circulation Guidelines
To borrow materials from the BTC library, staff and students must present a valid student ID obtained during the registration process. If you did not receive a student ID or need to have it validated for the new year, please contact Student Services.
Residents of Rock and Green County can obtain a library card at the library circulation desk. A form of identification, such as a driver's license, is required to secure a library card.
Renewals
Renewals are available for most items that do not have a hold placed on them. Patrons that have obtained a resident library card may renew materials one time.
Returning Materials
Those using materials, whether in or out of the library, are responsible for any deterioration in the condition of the material while in their use, as well as the safe and timely return of the materials. Borrowers who lose or damage library materials will be assessed a replacement and handling charge. If a lost item is found and returned in good condition before the replacement has been ordered, the replacement cost will be refunded.
Reserves
Reserves are library, media or an instructor's personal materials that have placed at the circulation desk for easy access. Availability of use and checkout of reserve materials is restricted by the instructor who places the materials on reserve. You must have your student ID with you to use reserve materials--even those which stay in the library. Patrons with resident library cards can only use reserve materials within the library if not in use by a student.
Holds
Placing a hold puts your name on a waiting list for an item that is currently checked out. A patron is notified by phone when an item is available for checkout. Patrons with resident library cards do not have hold privileges.
Overdue Policies and Fines
An overdue/fine notice will be sent by BTC email or US mail.
