COUNSELING
A counselor is available at
the Monroe Campus to provide:

Academic Counseling: program
information, assistance in selecting courses and creating an academic
plan.

exploration resources and assistance with job search strategies.

personal barriers that stand in the way of your educational goals.
Students are

WRITING AND MATH LABS
Instructors can
assist students with writing assignments and basic math and algebra.
See the Monroe Campus counselor or staff at the registration desk for
specific days and times for the labs.
SERVICES FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
BTC assists students
with disabilities by providing accommodations when requested. If you

STUDENT SKILLS COURSE
Becoming a Master
Student is a course that will help students develop the skills necessary to
become a successful student. Topics covered include study skills, note taking, time management, and community resources.
PEER TUTORING
Fellow students may
provide individualized tutoring in certain courses. Those requesting a
tutor should schedule an appointment with the Monroe Counselor by calling
328-1660. Those interested in becoming a tutor are also encouraged to
contact the Monroe Campus counselor.
COMPUTER LABS
The Monroe Campus
currently has three computer labs available for students to utilize for
homework and research when they are not in use for classes.
STUDENT ACTIVITIES
The Student Activity
Committee is committed to offering the Monroe Campus students fun and
educational events. The committee meets twice a month to plan
activities. All students are welcome - just contact Karen or
Sharon at the registration desk at 328-1660.
BOOKSTORE
Currently the Monroe
Campus does not have its own bookstore. However, one day prior to the
beginning of each semester the bookstore staff from the central campus makes
available all of the books required for the credit courses taught at the
Monroe Campus. Visit the bookstore website at

CAREER CENTER
The Career Center at
BTC can help individuals with their career planning needs. Located at
the Central Campus, the Center has many resources including printed
materials on occupations, career planning, resume writing, interviewing
skills, and college catalogs. Other resources include videos, computer
software programs, and self-assessments such as interest, work values
inventories, and computerized job search. For additional information

A limited amount of resources are available at the Monroe Campus, contact
the Monroe counselor for more information.
FINANCIAL AID
Students interested
in applying for federal and state grants, work-study (jobs on campus) and
loans, should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
available at the Monroe Campus. Though a hard copy application is
available, students are encouraged to complete the form online at
www.fafsa.ed.gov. Appropriate
federal income tax returns will be necessary in order to complete the
application. Questions regarding financial aid should be directed to
the Financial Aid Office located at the Central Campus (Janesville) at
1-800-498-1282 ext. 7664.
LIBRARY SERVICES
Offering over
26,000 books and videotapes, 290 periodicals, the
library features an online
library catalog and numerous online index and full text journal
databases as well as remote library catalogs from other resources.
WINGSPAN
Wingspan provides support to
students in non-traditional programs for their gender and displaced
homemakers.
