Today the apprenticeship process is a formal arrangement involving employers, apprenticeship committees, state government, technical colleges, and individuals who want to learn a skilled craft through on-the-job training and applied classroom instruction.

The State of Wisconsin recognizes more than 300 apprenticeable occupations. Many individuals, including women and minorities, have discovered that apprenticeship training offers an opportunity for a good-paying career.

How Do I Become An Apprentice?

Select a trade or occupation -- Plumbing or Electrician.
Apply to the appropriate apprenticeship office.
Testing for apprenticeship.
Forward an official highschool diploma or GED transcript to the appropriate apprenticeship office.
