Farm Business and Production Management is offered at the Monroe Campus and is designed to teach principles of farm management and problem solving in production agriculture. Enrollment is open to any individual who is actively engaged in or about to enter farming. This includes farm owners, operators, renters, partners, farm managers, and hired persons. Both men and women are encouraged to enroll. Students should plan to regularly attend scheduled group instruction sessions and allow time for individual on-farm instruction.

The career Outlook for farming is affected by many factors including government supports, the rising cost of machinery, feed, and chemicals, and daily changes in the prices of farm products. The development of corporate farms and cooperatives also affect the business of farming.
