Industrial Mechanics work in modern manufacturing environments in areas such as repairing and rebuilding industrial machines, installing, repairing, and maintaining automated systems, and performing tool room machining and millwright trade duties. Skills learned will include hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance in hydraulics, pneumatics, electric motors, control systems, and mechanical drives. BTC’s faculty will bring real-world experience to help you learn how
to evaluate machine performance, identify existing and potential trouble spots, and observe, test, repair, and assemble machinery and mechanical systems.
Both lecture and lab classroom training will cover machine shop fundamentals, machine maintenance techniques, cleaning and inspecting, repair procedures, basic fluid power, basic electricity, and welding to be applied in a variety of manufacturing industries, such as material handling, metal forming, automated assembly, welding, plastic molding, machine tool, food
processing, and robotics. This career is well-suited to individuals who have an interest in working with machinery, enjoy troubleshooting mechanical systems, and take pride in craftsmanship.
