Blackhawk Students to Plow the Competition at Nationals

Blackhawk Technical College Professional Agriculture Students (PAS) recently competed and excelled at the WI Professional Agricultural Students (PAS) Competitive Events Conference. Due to their exceptional performance, nine Blackhawk students are now headed to compete at the national contest in Minneapolis, Minnesota March 16 – 21, 2020. Over 600 students from two- and four-year colleges will participate in the national contest, tour a number of agricultural businesses, and attend educational workshops.

Here are the results from the WI Professional Agricultural Students (PAS) Competitive Events Conference:

Karly Ready- Monticello, WI

  • Impromptu Speaking 2nd place- national qualifier
  • Ag Sales Demonstration 1st place- national qualifier
  • Employment Interviewing- Agricultural Sales- 1st place-national qualifier

Nathan Hull- Gratiot, WI

  • Ag Sales Demonstration 2nd place- national qualifier

Denise Rankin-Belleville, WI

  • Employment Interviewing-Livestock Production- 2nd place- national qualifier
  • National qualifying Soils Team

Ryan Stilen- Janesville, WI

  • Ag Sales Demonstration 3rd place
  • Employment Interviewing-Fruit and Vegetable Production- 1st place-national qualifier
  • Career Planning- Plant Systems- 4th Place
  • National qualifying Crops Team

Emily Rowley- Evansville, WI

  • Impromptu Speaking- 5th place
  • National qualifying Soils Team

Casey Bennett- Orfordville, WI

  • Employment Interviewing- Agribusiness Administration- 1st place-national qualifier
  • Career Planning- Agriculture Management and Marketing- 2nd place-national qualifier
  • Prepared Speaking 4th place
  • National qualifying Crops Team

Abby Krausse- Edgerton, WI

  • Employment Interviewing- Agribusiness Administration- 3rd place
  • National qualifying Crops Team

Brianna Arneson- Mt. Horeb, WI

  • Employment Interviewing- Fertilizer and Ag Chemical- 1st place- national qualifier
  • Agricultural Sales Demonstration- 4th place
  • National qualifying Soils Team

Kalee Schaefer-Monroe, WI
