Blackhawk Faculty Member Wins Advisor of the Year Award

Congratulations to Blackhawk Technical College faculty member Jeff Kropp for being named the Wisconsin Business Professionals of America (BPA) Advisor of the Year. The award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to Business Professionals of America as a local chapter advisor. Kropp was recently presented the award at the Wisconsin BPA state conference.

Jeff has been a strong force in the Business Division at Blackhawk for five years and has nearly a decade of experience as an educator. His recognition for this award was inspired by his continuous support of the BPA organization and his drive to challenge BPA members to improve their overall communication and leadership skills.

With twenty years of experience in a successful business career, Jeff has used that knowledge to help coach and encourage students. “Our mostly part-time students are very busy and when they take on the challenge of going above and beyond by joining BPA, they are taking strides to excel as leaders in our local workforce,” said Jeff.

“It is fun for me to see how their ability to communicate improves and their confidence develops over time. I enjoy celebrating and sharing their successes when they excel in competitions.” 

As a co-advisor with Jeff over the past two years, Joel Schleusner, Business Management Instructor shares his thoughts about Jeff and his many contributions. “I can honestly say that he is a great recipient for this award. He has been an inspiring mentor, teaching me about the BPA organization and how to handle the duties of running the local chapter. Jeff's enthusiasm for BPA is contagious with our members and me!”

Blackhawk Technical College is proud of Jeff and the mentoring skills he has provided to our BPA students. We are honored that he has been given this esteemed award.

Jeff Kropp holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (1998) and a Master’s of Science in Management (2007) from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
