Blackhawk Technical College maintains an open-door admissions policy for all prospective students. This means that anyone can enroll in courses and have the opportunity to learn new skills or improve existing skills. Admissions requirements may vary from program to program, but generally include high school graduation or GED/HSED completion.

Request official copies of high school transcripts, as well as transcripts of ALL colleges you have attended.   *Transcripts are NOT official if the envelope in which they were issued has been opened.

Submit one of the following *pre-admission assessments:

  • Accuplacer - Testing Schedule
  • ACT
    *Minimum assessment scores are required for some programs.
  • The testing requirement is waived for applicants who submit transcripts showing they have earned an Associates or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college.

Application processing times may vary according to the time of year, however, applicants should expect the admissions process to take 2 to 4 weeks from the date we receive the last required document.  To expedite the application process, submit all of your documentation together. Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis.

*We cannot guarantee admission to the college for applications received less than one month prior to the start of the semester.  Review and transfer of credits for prior learning may take 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the time of year and the number of colleges previously attended.

**  Note: WCTC district residents applying to the Physical Therapist Assistant Program.  Although BTC is the admitting institution for the PTA program, WCTC district residents should submit their application to the WCTC Admissions office (800 Main St, Pewaukee, WI 53072).
