DWD Secretary Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Youth Apprenticeship in Wisconsin at BTC Event

Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary-Designee Amy Pechacek joined manufacturing employers, educators, and workforce development partners at a Youth Apprenticeship Lunch & Learn event Wednesday at BTC’s Advanced Manufacturing Training Center in celebration of National Apprenticeship Week and the 30th anniversary of the state’s Youth Apprenticeship program.

BTC Students Benefit from COVID-19 Relief Funds

During the 2021-2022 academic year, Blackhawk Technical College students will continue to benefit from COVID-19 relief funding. The College has $3.8 million to devote to student support for the upcoming academic year that begins on Monday, Aug. 16. Since the pandemic began, the College has provided $2,202,010 in relief funds directly to students.

Change in Masking Policy Effective August 9

We continue to closely monitor the pandemic in cooperation with local, state, federal, and CDC guidelines. In response to the increasing threat of the Delta variant and the rise of COVID-19 cases/hospitalizations, the CDC revised its guidance last week. In light of these changes, our leadership team continues to put the safety of our students, employees, and visitors first as we update our pandemic response.

BTC to Host Open House – Fast Track Day

Blackhawk Technical College will host an open house (Fast Track Day) on Saturday, August 14, from 8 a.m. until noon at its Central Campus in Janesville. Fast Track Day is designed for students to take care of last-minute needs before the fall semester.

BTC Honors Community Partners & Technical Education Champion

Blackhawk Technical College honored several community partners at a recognition event on its Central Campus. These awards are selected and awarded annually from nominations submitted by Blackhawk students, faculty, and staff. 

Ag Instructors Harvest Top Honors

Dusty Williams and Ralph Johnson, BTC instructors in the agribusiness program, were honored recently at the Wisconsin Association of Agricultural Educators Conference in Lacrosse, WI.
