Blackhawk Technical College celebrated its newest graduates on Dec. 16 during a commencement ceremony at its Beloit-Janesville Campus.
A total of 95 credentials were awarded to the December graduates, including associate degrees, diplomas, and apprenticeships.
The ceremony featured student speaker Kiara Magana, a graduate of the Early Childhood Education program, who shared words of encouragement for her fellow graduates.
“Even though each graduate here has chosen a different path, all of us share something in common: we stuck with it. We showed up. We grew. And we didn’t give up, even when life made it tempting,” Magana said. “After today, our lives will all move in different directions. Some of us will start new careers. Some will continue our education. Some will take well-deserved breaks to rest and recharge. Whatever your next step is, I hope it brings you purpose, confidence, and joy.”
Dr. Tracy Pierner, President of Blackhawk, also spoke.
“Everyone here is very proud of you,” Pierner said. “You’ve persevered, and you’ll continue to make your mark on this community. Well done!”
