Nouansacksy Knows Computers—and Soccer

Image

Andy Nouansacksy is well known at Blackhawk Technical College. As a help desk/network support technician, he’s familiar to many around the Beloit-Janesville Campus. If you’ve ever had a computer issue, chances are you’ve worked with him.

But Nouansacksy, a Janesville native, isn’t just a computer guy.

Outside of Blackhawk, he has been quietly reviving the Janesville Parker High School girls soccer team. He started coaching in 2018 for Rock SC Rush, formerly known as Rock Soccer Club, and began coaching for Parker in 2024. Since then, he and the Parker Vikings have had tremendous success.

Encouraged by families

“I ended up coaching at Parker High through relationships I had already built in the soccer community. I had coached several players at the club level who either attended Parker or were about to start there, so I was already familiar with many of the athletes and their families,” Nouansacksy said.

The encouragement from those families led to his interest in coaching the Parker team.

“Their confidence in me meant a lot, and after learning more about the opportunity, I knew it was something I wanted to pursue,” he shared. “Looking back, it's amazing how simply showing up to support players I had coached led to the opportunity to build and lead the Parker girls soccer program. It's a decision that has truly changed my life, and I'm grateful every day for the chance to coach these student-athletes.”

Recognized for winning

In a recent Janesville Gazette article, the team’s third season with Nouansacksy ended with a record of 9-8-1 (3-6 Big Eight) in which the Parker Vikings started the year with six-straight victories. Due to his soccer success, Nouansacksy was recognized by the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association (WSCA) as one of five finalists for the WSCA Division 1 Coach of the Year award. After the season ends, the final award winner will be announced.

Despite only playing soccer through middle school himself, Nouansacksy said there is more to being a great coach than your playing career.

“I've learned that being a great coach isn't just about how much you played. It's about constantly learning the game, building relationships with your players, creating a positive culture, and helping young athletes become the best versions of themselves both on and off the field,” he said. “It's about building a culture where players feel supported, challenged, and believe they're part of something bigger than themselves. When you create that kind of environment, the results on the field usually take care of themselves.”

Fulfilled through service

Nouansacksy has worked at Blackhawk for nearly 14 years. After attending Waukesha County Technical College where he earned his associate degree in the IT-Network Specialist program, he looked for an opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s lives every day, he said.

“I enjoy solving problems, helping others and building relationships through the work I do. Whether it's supporting students, staff or faculty, I find fulfillment in knowing that my work helps others succeed. I also appreciate that this career allows me to continuously learn, grow and take on new challenges while making a meaningful difference,” he explained.

Nouansacksy and his wife, Sharon, have a daughter, Alan, who recently graduated from Craig High School in Janesville. The family also has a dog named Blue who is a 7-year-old Catahoula/pit bull mix.

Regarding the FIFA World Cup, Nouansacksy said was rooting for “USMNT 100%!” The U.S. men's team, however, ended its run at the World Cup with a 4-1 Round of 16 loss to Belgium.
