Make a Gift

Contribute to the growth and success of your community.

Your gift to the BTC Foundation is an investment in the future and vitality of south-central Wisconsin. It provides students with scholarships, grants and an endowment for the future.

Thousands of people every day help Rock and Green counties thrive, thanks to the skills they honed at Blackhawk Technical College. Perhaps you are an alumnus whose BTC education helped you achieve your goals. (If so, make sure you are registered with the BTC Alumni Association.) Or you may be the owner, operator or manager of a business that benefits from the employment of skilled BTC graduates. Or maybe you are a neighbor, who recognizes the value that a quality technical college brings to your community.

Whatever the reasons, your contributions help assure that Blackhawk Technical College will continue to keep south-central Wisconsin working.

Ways you can help:

Such gifts may take the form of:
  • Gifts for scholarships or the endowment
  • Gifts for capital and building campaigns
  • Donations of equipment, supplies, property or real estate
  • Planned giving or legacy gifts

In addition to financial and capital contributions, the foundation welcomes gifts of time, energy, advice, guidance, and leadership to support the college in carrying out its purpose.

Support the IDEAL Opportunity Scholarship.

The IDEAL Opportunity Scholarship is an intentional effort to increase access to education and transform the lives of persons of color who are low income and may be first-generation college students. This unique scholarship will launch in January 2021 to support two full-time enrolled students as they work toward degree completion. A gift to the IDEAL Opportunity Scholarship will fund tuition and fees, books and supplies, and a cost of living stipend for the recipients. Thus, this special scholarship removes financial barriers that might hinder a student’s access to education and training. Make a gift to The Blackhawk Fund today and help us transform lives.

Make a Gift

Make a contribution to other scholarships.

The desire for a better life motivates Blackhawk Technical College students to work hard and achieve their academic goals—often while juggling work and family responsibilities. In the past few years, students’ financial hardships have increased while financial aid funding has substantially decreased. More students than ever are applying for limited scholarship dollars.

Here’s how you can invest in BTC students:

General Scholarships

Minimum gift: None

The easiest way to transform a student’s life. Individuals, businesses and organizations may donate any amount to the BTC Foundation General Scholarship Endowment or Annual Scholarship fund.

Named Annual Scholarships

Minimum gift: $500 per year

Honor a loved one, establish a legacy or celebrate success. A named annual scholarship creates a personal connection between Blackhawk Technical College students and an individual, business or an organization. Donors may specify award criteria to reflect values and objectives.

Endowed Scholarships

Minimum gift: $10,000

Make a lasting difference in the lives of students by establishing an endowed scholarship. An endowment requires a minimum gift of $10,000. Created through a gift, bequest, charitable remainder trust, or existing life insurance policy or current gifts, an endowment is the best way to ensure your gift honors your passions and values in perpetuity. Each year, five percent of the fund balance is awarded to a BTC student, allowing the fund to continue growing.
