Safe, Hands-On Learning to Continue at BTC

April 28, 2021

Registration is now open for summer and fall courses at Blackhawk Technical College. The College, which has been open for in-person, hybrid, and online course offerings since last June, plans to continue leaving the choice for class format in the hands of its students.

“We have experienced zero community spread on our campuses due to our safety protocols and precautions. We continue to offer safe, hands-on, flexible education in a supportive environment,” explained BTC president Dr. Tracy Pierner.

Blackhawk instituted increased cleaning protocols, increased air exchange, requiring facemasks, and adhering to social distancing. These measures have allowed the College to continue operations with minimal interruptions to teaching and learning.

The College has locations in Janesville, Milton, Monroe, and Beloit. Class delivery options include something Blackhawk calls MyEdChoice. This option allows students to choose how they attend each class and does not lock them into one format. In a MyEdChoice class, students have the option to participate in the classroom at a set class time, live during class time using video conferencing, or online at any time. Students can mix and match how they attend class or pick the option that works best for them. The choice is up to the student.

Prospective students looking to learn more can visit Blackhawk.edu/get-connected to get more information, schedule a visit to campus, or apply for admission.
