Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic program will prepare you to work in a modern manufacturing environment, developing the skills you need to maintain, repair, and operate machinery and equipment in a high-tech, industrial environment.

In this program, you will get a well-rounded learning experience through lectures, hands-on classroom experiences, field trips, interactive discussions, and real-life lab activities. You will be exposed to equipment in the industrial world, giving you the confidence and ability to work for industrial manufacturing companies, food manufacturing/processing plants, farms, industrial contract service providers, machine shops, construction companies, and welding/fabrication shops.

Many students in the one-year Industrial Maintenance Mechanic program work while they go to school. Blackhawk makes it easy for you to work and complete this program with our flexible learning options. Each semester is comprised of three five-week modules; you can start the program when the semester begins or at the beginning of each five-week module. Your time commitment is approximately eight hours a week, which you can work into your schedule, and with our flexible learning options, you can complete this program on your terms and without having to wait for a new semester to begin.
