Report Hazing

All acts of hazing by any individual student, or sanctioned or promoted by any student club or organization and any of its members or alumni, are prohibited.

Examples of Hazing

Hazing is generally defined as any activity expected of someone joining or participating in a group that humiliates, degrades, abuses or endangers them, regardless of a person’s willingness to participate.

  • Requiring servitude
  • Taking cell phones or other devices
  • Forced consumption of alcohol
  • Not allowing attendance at class or other academic functions
  • Sleep deprivation
  • Forced ingestion of vile substances
  • Use of demeaning names
  • Abductions/kidnapping
  • Asking new members to wear embarrasing attire

Limitations

The College will investigate all reports submitted to the extent possible. Please be aware that anonymous reports significantly reduce the College's capacity to investigate and address reports of hazing. Individuals are encouraged to provide their name and contact information when submitting a report to facilitate a more thorough investigation. Those who include their name should recognize that it will be part of the record shared during any conduct process.
