What You’ll Learn

This program is not running during the 2023-24 academic year. It is being modified and will be offered again starting in Fall 2024.

If you want to turn your passion for cooking into a creative and rewarding career, then our Culinary Production Specialist program is a great fit for you. This hands-on opportunity will train you in a state-of-the-art kitchen alongside seasoned chef instructors. This will give you the technical and professional knowledge you need to start a career in the culinary industry. In fact, according to the most recent Blackhawk Technical College outcome survey, 95 percent of our graduates are employed within six months of graduation. In addition, internships and employer-student partnerships are a major part of this program. Designed to be flexible for working adults, you can pursue your diploma full- or part-time.

A shining star among BTC’s many academic offerings, the college’s Culinary Arts program has earned multiple awards including the Wisconsin Board of Vocational Technical and Adult Education with the Exemplary Education Service Award. The Culinary Arts program is also accredited and recognized as an Exemplary Program by the American Culinary Federation.

Blackhawk Technical College’s Culinary Production Specialist program is funded by State of Wisconsin General Purpose Revenue (GPR) grant funds administered by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board. GPR funds of $200,000 represent 100% of the total grant project.
