Heavy trucks, such as construction or agricultural equipment, are more complex than ever. The Diesel and Heavy Equipment program at Blackhawk is designed to train you for a career in either the "on-highway" or "off-road" industry by offering theory and hands-on instruction about diesel and heavy equipment service and repair.
This program will provide you with the skills needed to become an industry mechanic specializing in construction, farming, and railway transport vehicles. You will learn how to use the latest diesel technologies, interpret technical manuals, and communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
NOTE: Before admission to the Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technician program, applicants must first pass the S/P2 Safety and Pollution Test. Federal law requires safety training before students can enter the work area. Contact the Testing Center at (608) 757-7666 or firstname.lastname@example.org for testing details.
