Blackhawk Technical College’s K-12 Partner Award recognizes collaborative activities between K-12 educators, school districts, or administrators with Blackhawk Technical College. These activities range from joint collaboration and partnership on learning experiences with students; recruitment initiatives with the College; implementation of a project or program that supports a technical education career pathway to the College; promotion of Blackhawk as a top college of choice to students for post-secondary education; awareness of university transfer options; expansion of dual credit programs; collaboration on joint professional development opportunities with the College, etc.

These partnerships provide students with opportunities to explore Blackhawk, but they also link the College, educators, schools, school districts, and administrators in a common goal of growing a high-quality talent pipeline for the next generation workforce for our communities.

Examples of nominees may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • School District
  • Individual School (elementary, middle, or high school)
  • Superintendent of Schools
  • School District Director
  • School Principal
  • School Department/Division
  • School Program
  • Individual Teacher (or team of teachers)

Please consider nominating a deserving K-12 Partner to receive this honor.

Nominations should describe exceptional K-12 school partnerships with Blackhawk Technical College that have been particularly effective in facilitating continuous improvement among all stakeholders.

Following are the criteria against which nominees for the award will be measured.

  • Demonstrated partnership between a teacher (or team of teachers), a school, a school district, a district department/division/program, or superintendent/director/principal  and Blackhawk Technical College.
  • Creation or development of a program or project that demonstrates a linkage and integration with Blackhawk Technical College and its mission, vision, and values.
  • Promotion of creative and innovative recruitment initiatives or activities with Blackhawk Technical College.
  • Demonstrated commitment from the school leadership supporting Blackhawk Technical College and it programs and degree options for post-secondary education to their student body.
  • Development of joint professional development opportunities with Blackhawk Technical College and a K-12 partner.
  • Creation of College-School District-Community Engagement programs and/or initiatives.
