Learn Life-Saving Skills

“Next to creating a life, the finest thing a man can do is save one.” – Abraham Lincoln

We’ve all watched scenes on television shows and in movies – someone collapses, another yells, “Does anyone know CPR?” A hero steps up and saves the day. Do you ever think, “What would I do in that situation? Would I be able to help save a life?”

When a person suffers a cardiac arrest, survival depends on getting CPR immediately. In fact, almost 90% of people who suffer cardiac arrest outside of a hospital, die. When CPR is performed within the first few minutes of an attack, a person’s chance for survival can double or triple.

Learning CPR and basic First Aid is something you should do not only for yourself – but for your family. Most likely, if you ever have to try to save a life, it will be of someone you love. Only 46% of people who experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest get the immediate help they need. Non-credit CPR, first aid, or related training could be the most important class you ever take.

At Blackhawk Technical College, we offer the following training options:
  • BLS Provider
  • Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED
  • Heartsaver® CPR AED
  • Heartsaver® First Aid
