BTC partnered with Janesville School District to hold its first annual Women in Stem event on Monday, April 23. More than 150 middle-school and high-school aged girls from Marshall, Franklin and Edison Middle Schools, Parker and Craig High Schools, and Rock River, Rock University, TAGOS Leadership Academy and Arise Virtual magnet schools had the opportunity to learn about careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Franklin was honored with 15 other students at a banquet recognizing student ambassadors from the Wisconsin Technical College system. The awards banquet, held in Madison on April 18, recognized Franklin and her peers for embodying what it means to be a successful technical college student.

The Wisconsin MGIA Summer Conference will be held at Blackhawk Technical College, 6004 S. County Road G. Janesville, on July 24 and 25. MGIA – the Midwest Gang Investigators Association – is an organization dedicated to the promotion and coordination of national, state and local anti-gang strategies and initiatives. MGIA has 2,000 member across 12 Midwestern states.
