Whether an individual is seeking professional development or continuing education or a degree program, Blackhawk Technical College Fire Science programs have many options to help students advance in their career. “The fire science industry is constantly changing and evolving. To meet those needs, BTC provides classes at a variety of locations and times in Rock and Green Counties. We present the classes in the format that works best for our students,” said Rob Balsamo, BTC Coordinator of EMS and Fire Science Programs. Formal education for firefighters and leaders in fire science has become an expectation, not the exception.

No matter the industry, all organizations benefit from strong leadership. “Whether you work in manufacturing, banking, retail, education, government or health care, a leadership development degree provides you with skills and preparation to be an effective leader,” said Blackhawk Technical College Business Management Instructor Joel Schleusner. The college is launching a new Leadership Development degree program this fall.

Congratulations to the students who have been named to the President’s List for Spring 2019. Students on the President’s List were enrolled in nine or more credit hours earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Rock Internship Program Returns for Year Two

More than 125 individuals recently gathered at Blackhawk Technical College’s Central Campus to kick-off the 2019 Rock Internship program. The program, in its second year, recognized thirty-eight incoming high school seniors from eight districts, and over 20 employers during the signing event. In addition to these festivities, interns participated in employment onboarding activities and a professional development workshop. The 2019 Rock Internship Program provides a structured six-week, paid earning-and-learning opportunity.
